Windows 7 and MSN
Most are annoyed of the MSN and Skype blocks always floating around in the taskbar, but it is actually easy to make them hide just as before.
What we want them to do is to behave like they were running in Windows Vista, and to do that we need to go through a few simple steps.
Start by browsing to the Messenger folder, in my case it is “C:\Program Files (x86)\Windows Live\Messenger”
In here you need to locate the file named “msnmsgr.exe” and right click and enter Properties
In there you find the tab named “Compatibility” and all you then have to do is to check “Run this program in…” and select Windows Vista (Service Pack 2)
Depending on your knowledge you can either use the task manager to stop the msnmsgr.exe from running and then start it manually, or the simplest way, restart your computer.
When it starts back up, MSN should be located just like it were in Vista.
To do the same for skype, you need to look in “C:\Program Files (x86)\Skype\Phone” and then repeat the steps for “Skype.exe”
